For Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 (10th – 16th May), OPEN have partnered with 2Step Collective, to highlight the positive effect exercise can have on mental health.

2Step are a Liverpool based running collective which is more than just a running club. Their aim is to bring people together and run as one, regardless of skill level or experience, and they have over 30 members who come together on a weekly basis. Founded in 2020, 2step faced their own struggles this year alongside everyone when lockdown measures meant that they could not meet up as a collective. Not phased by this, the group adapted and encouraged each of their members to get out and run as a group by posting their solo runs to a shared tracking app to keep the spirit going.

The campaign aims to highlight the profound importance of exercise to your physical and mental wellbeing, and how this is so important especially over the last year which has been challenging for everyone. We’ve featured copy with quotes from members of 2step on our Liverpool Large Format Digital portfolio across the city centre – catch them at Barratt House, Central Station and Victoria Street.
